COBRA IS, through its subsidiary the Cobra Group and in a consortium with Ansaldo Energ\u00eda, has been awarded a contract for the construction of the 299 MW Poolbeg open cycle power plant by the Irish Electricity Supply Board (ESB). The project is located next to the sea port in Dublin, Ireland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This large-scale project includes all engineering, construction, supply of materials and equipment, as well as the operation and maintenance of the plant. The plant will be fitted with a state-of-the-art AE94.3A gas turbine and associated generator, providing a total capacity of 299 MW. This additional capacity will mean that the Irish power grid can provide more power from renewable energy sources, acting as a crucial back-up generator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The plant is scheduled for completion in early 2027 and is expected to make a significant contribution to Ireland’s energy infrastructure, by enhancing the stability and resilience of the country’s power grid. The addition of this new plant will help meet growing energy demand and facilitate greater integration of renewable energy, thus promoting a more sustainable and reliable energy system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
