This innovative Direct Reduction technology will save up to 3.5 million tonnes of CO<sub>2<\/sub> per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With this project, a decisive step is being taken towards replacing CO<sub>2<\/sub>-intensive steel production with environmentally friendly technologies. This plant will be the world&#8217;s first hydrogen-ready DR plant and one of the world&#8217;s largest industrial decarbonisation projects. This not only contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, but also positions Thyssenkrupp Steel Europe at the technological cutting edge as a pioneer in the decarbonisation of the steel value
